Technical Writer



Position Summary:


The Technical Writer is responsible for developing, updating and presenting well-written documentation. This requires effective communication on mission critical projects. The documentation will consist of process flows and application functionality.


Responsibilities and Requirements


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Creating and updating sales kit with demo scripts.
• Creating product documentation, user manuals, best practice sheets and other necessary documentation.
• Providing regular updates to professional services, support and development.
• Generating correspondence and memoranda, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, etc.
• Dealing effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside business contacts.
• Completing various special assignments and ad hoc projects.
• Functioning as a team player with a true spirit of cooperation and willingness to ensure smooth and effective operation; maintaining a highly professional demeanor and being capable of working under pressure with a sense of urgency.
• Reports to the Technical Manager

Measurable Goals:

• Check in daily with supervisor to review assigned tasks
• Meet all target dates given for assigned projects
• Update professional services, support and development calendar weekly
• Check MBO database for ad hoc projects
• Provide daily status report to supervisor explaining work completed and any issue’s/concerns which may have arisen

Requirements:

• Associate degree required, bachelor preferred
• Experience writing professional and/or technical documentation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at a level of detail appropriate for the audience
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, strong work ethic and self-motivated
• Enthusiastic and driven to succeed
• Ability to work independently, but also successfully work on a team
• Detail oriented and sound independent judgment
• Time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Frequent travel may be required (domestic and international)
